Canadian Institute of Forestry Conference

Taha Syed, a project coordinator at the Mass Timber Institute, made a presentation on his capstone project titled “Identifying Mass Timber Research Priorities of the End-Users, Barriers and Challenges in Canada” at the Canadian Institute of Forestry’s National Conference and 111th Annual General Meeting held October 6-9th in Pembroke, Ontario. Anne Koven, Director of the Mass Timber Institute, recruited Master of Forest Conservation students from the University of Toronto to participate in a panel discussion. Mariaelena Guarrasi described her research on pest control, Jennika Hunsinger talked about her internship in Nova Scotia associated with forest policy and Sarah Todgham, an MFC alum who now works at the Forest Product Association of Canada, moderated the discussion.
